Welcome to My Professional Journey!
In this portfolio, the write-up analysis for most of my content is based on the Danielson Framework for Teaching. This framework consists of four Domains: Planning and Preparation, the Classroom Environment, Instruction, and Professional Responsibilities. It is a tool used to guide teachers in how to be the most effective professionals in and out of the classroom. By analyzing my work through this lens, I am preparing myself to see how I can leverage different classroom management procedures, technology tools, styles of instruction, and curriculum to be an effective educator.
Some of my comments on the content that I have created with technological resources cite the International Society for Technology in Education's Standards for Students which focus on seven areas of student growth: Empowered Learner, Digital Citizen, Knowledge Constructor, Innovative Designer, Computational Thinker, and Global Communicator. My references to these standards are intended to show how my use of technological tools in the classroom is empowering my students to discover new pathways of learning in the digital world.
In addition, I reference the Partnership for 21st Century Learning's four C's. These C's are important 21st century skills for students to acquire because they drive innovation and invention in this age. They are communication, collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving, and creativity and innovation. The applications of these skills to my teaching is intended to demonstrate how I will be equipping my students in the classroom with important 21st century tools that enable them to succeed.
